Hemorrhoids are not always easy to treat as they seem to come and go, depending on factors such as sitting for long periods of time and struggling to pass hard stools.
The most natural way to help rid yourself of hemorrhoids is by eating foods that soften the stool, making them easier to pass. Here is a common sense approach to those foods.
Adding fiber to your diet is often the trick to softening stools. Grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables are key.
Eat a grain-based cereal every morning; Raisin Bran is both palatable and full of bulky fiber. You can also make homemade bran muffins using Bran cereal, which is lower is sugar than the muffins purchased in a market.
Enjoy an apple for a snack, including the peeling.
Be sure to include the following high-fiber foods in your daily diet: cooked peas, kidney and white beans, whole wheat bread, potatoes, prunes, popcorn, broccoli, oranges and pears.
In order for all the fiber to pass through your system easily, make sure to drink plenty of water every day; at least 6 8-oz. glasses per day.
You can supplement (but not replace) with fiber-rich fruit juices as well.
Getting daily exercise will help keep your system humming along naturally. Walking is a simple way to make sure you're getting at least some exercise.
Eating the majority of your foods as raw will help your system process the fiber. Be careful not to overdo on raw vegetables or you may find diarrhea a problem.
