- Clean out the baby food jar and remove any labels or glue on the outside. Spray paint the outside of the jar and lid in whatever color you choose and let dry. Decorate the jar with rhinestones, glitter, more painting or other items as you see fit. Fill with potpourri. Wrap a ribbon around the center of the jar and tie a bow.
- Remove the lid and cover it with a decorative fabric or felt. Take some green Playdough and mash it into a small mound. Then, glue it with hot glue to the inside of the baby food jar lid. Choose a few small silk flowers. Cut the stems very short so the flower itself can fit within a baby food jar. Stick the stems into the Playdough to create an arrangement. Place the jar over the flower and screw into the lid. Wrap a ribbon around the base of the jar and tie a bow.
- Remove the jar lid and spray paint the outside of the jar and the lid in a color of your choice. Allow to dry. Then, decorate the outside of the jar to fit the party's theme. Be creative and use all sorts of things like glitter, rhinestones, feathers, tissue paper and stickers. Create a label with a short phrase or saying about the party, such as "Ashley's 16th Birthday." Print these labels on the computer and stick the labels onto the lid or side of the jar. Fill the jar with candy, and you have an instant party favor.
- Take a box cutter and cut a gash in the lid so there's an opening large enough to stick change through. Remove the lid and spray paint the outside of the jar and lid. Let dry. With a small paintbrush paint a saying on the outside of the jar, such as "Grandpa's Fishing Money" or something that pertains to the person who the bank is for. Let dry. Add any decorative embellishments you would like, such as rhinestones, ribbons, bows and more. Put the lid on and you have a great change bank.
