Prom Scrapbook Ideas
Prom night is a particularly special one in the lives of most teenagers. It is a time to get dressed up, go on a romantic date, and have fun with friends. Scrapbooks can help to commemorate the prom and help a teenager to look back at that time fondly.
-
Write the Prom Story
-
Take the time to sit down and write about the prom. Don't limit it to simply the night of prom itself. Instead, write about picking out the dress or tux, finding the special date--then getting dressed and ready, going to dinner, the prom itself, and the after-party. Allow plenty of time to write the story, and do not leave out any important details.
List Your Pages
-
After writing your story, pick out the main themes and ideas to include as scrapbook pages and list them. You might also choose to include separate pages for each person who was special on prom night, including you date and each of your friends.
-
Choose Your Theme
-
Choosing your theme is an important part of creating a memorable prom scrapbook. You might choose to make the theme the same as your school's prom theme. So, it might be "Under the Sea," "The Love Boat," or whatever the theme for the year is. If you are not fond of your school's prom theme, instead you could choose colors that coordinate with what you and your date wore to the prom. If you had a blue and silver dress and your date wore a blue and silver tie, then blue and silver might be the perfect theme for your scrapbook.
Gather Materials
-
With your pages and theme decided on, begin to set aside photographs from your prom experience, and organize them according to the page they will be mounted on. Choose backgrounds at the craft store or use fabric as a background for your scrapbook pages. Be sure to choose coordinating photo corners, borders, stickers, and more. You can also include a DVD compilation of prom night or a collection of music. Ticket stubs, programs, menus, and receipts also add nice additions to prom scrapbooks.
Get to Work
-
With everything organized and ready to go, it should be a cinch to put your prom scrapbook together. Get creative with you placement and don't be afraid to try unique angles and to write directly on the page. Ask your prom date and friends for help or input as you go. They might think of something that you would not. When your prom scrapbook is finished, invite all your friends over for dinner and laughs as you look back at all the fun you had together.
