When you collect email address from customers, have them type the address twice. This will catch misspellings that will keep your emails from reaching them. Make it easy for subscribers to update and change their email address so you don't lose them when they change their email providers.
Proofread your newsletters and other emails to make sure everything is correct. Test the layout before you send the messages to be sure they show up as you intended. Also test each link in your email to be sure they work as a simple typo can make a link appear dead. - Set up a schedule for your mailings and stick to it. You want to send something at least once a month to keep reader interest. Once or twice a week is even better. Test which days of the week tend to have the best responses, and then make those the regular days for your emails. Put the best information and offers at the top of the email newsletter. Create different format for your newsletters, test which one performs the best and then settle on that design to use over and over. This helps your customers to know where to go for the information they are most interested in. Use your brand name in your mailings so your customers know this message is from you.

Provide real information in your email newsletters, not just sale's speak. Reward your subscribers with special articles not available on your website. Include special discounts on products and services in your email messages--this will make them want to read your email even more. Send holiday greetings and specials--don't only email when you want something from your customers.
If you want to attract subscribers, let prospects know the specials they can get for subscribing. You can also boost the number of subscribers with contests and giveaways.
