Home education is a great alternative to public and private schooling. Prior to 1852, there was no compulsory schooling law enforced and most children received their early education at home. Throughout the history of civilization there have been movements in homeschooling and early education. The most modern movement of homeschooling began in the 1960s and 1970s when Ray and Dorothy Moore, professional education workers, began to question the validity of early education. There are millions of children being educated at home and hundreds of thousands more worldwide. In this free video series on education, homeschool teacher Linda Wooldridge discusses several topics related to homeschooling. Wooldridge begins by addressing how to create a homeschool curriculum, keep track of scholastic records, assess grade levels, become a certified homeschool teacher and how to start a homeschool group. She then suggests several tips fro making a lesson plan, planning a field trip, making a transcript, teaching a foreign language and dealing with socialization issues.
