Shepards pie, cottage pie, cowboy pie: whatever you call it, this delicious combination of meat, vegetables, and mashed potatoes was created by the English, perhaps as a solution to having nothing but an assortment of leftovers for dinner. Nevertheless, IMHO, it still stands up today as a cheap and easy meal any night of the week.

Officially, shepherd’s pie uses lamb as its main ingredient, but often, ground beef is substituted. In this free cooking video series, follow along as chef David Postada takes you on a quick foray into the kitchen to make a Cajun-style shepards pie. Learn the ingredients you need, how to cut the vegetables, seasonings, how to make homemade mashed potatoes, how to cook everything in the oven, and finally how to enjoy it!

This tasty shepherd’s pie recipe pretty much speaks for itself, and works great for family meals, church gatherings, parties, or anywhere else where you’ll be serving a large number of guests. Try it out at your next function or event.
