Effective communication skills are essential for building and maintaining successful relationships with family and coworkers. These skills are also key to managing new environments, people and situations. Interpersonal communication can be verbal or non-verbal, direct or passive and involves both one-to-many and one-to-one interactions. Most people trying to improve personal communication skills, however, do not do so for professional advancement or public speaking. We just want to understand those around us, get along better with the people we date, learn what makes the man or woman we love tick. Listening and figuring people out is a big part of communication and relationship success. In this free video series on communication and personal relationships, psychologist Reka Morvay teaches all about reading other people. Morvay offers tips on how to tell if someone is lying, tell-tale signs of manipulation in a relationship, why men and women play games, and how to fix a marriage. She gives clear advice from her years of education and experience in counseling in how to understand the male ego, how to talk to a guy about marriage, learning how a man thinks and more. Morvay even talks about body language, interracial couples, making a man commit and having healthy arguments.
