As a sport, rock climbing began at the end of the 19th century in Germany and England. Since then, it has grown into a world-famous sport with hundreds of thousands of participants. Scott Keisling Scott Kiesling and has been rock climbing for more than 25 years. He has been a rescue climber for more than 10 years. He is also certified in single-rope techniques, top roping and lead climbing, both sport and traditional. He currently owns a 7,000-square-foot rock climbing facility called Climb On! in Wilmington, N.C.
