Rugelach is a traditional Jewish pastry made of dough and filled with a variety of sweet ingredients. The dough for this traditional dessert can be made with cream cheese, but is typically made with no dairy ingredients so that it can be eaten with a meat meal. There are a variety of fillings that can be rolled into the flaky dough pasty, including raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, chocolate, cocoa, marzipan or apricot preserves. Rugelach pastries make great holiday cookies, but are delicious anytime of the year.

In this free video series, our expert chef will demonstrate how to make a wonderful rugelach pastry recipe. She will show you how to make two kinds of rugelach dough, one with a traditional rising yeast, and one with a quicker cold yeast. You will also learn how to make a variety of fillings for your rugelach, including a cinnamon and cocoa filling, a poppyseed filling, and a jelly walnut filling. Along with the delicious filling, our chef will also show you how to create a homemade sugar and syrup topping to cover this tasty dessert.
