Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates. It was designed to strengthen the body core (which consists of the abdominal muscles, the lower back muscles, hip flexors, and gluteus muscles) in order to prevent back pain, and help with spine alignment and breathing control. Pilates can be done almost anywhere and can be learned quite easily especially when you can be taught by a pilates instructor. She holds current fitness certifications including Group X instructor, personal trainer, Pilates, yoga, aqua fitness, kick boxing, and Lifestyle Fitness coaching. Carol Ann has traveled nationally and internationally training fitness professionals, presenting certifications and workshops, and sharing her knowledge for specific training techniques and applications. Along with various fitness training DVDs, she is the creator and star of the fitness DVD series called The Steel Physique System.
