So you've got a lathe all set up in the wood shop and now you are surrounded by a pile of practice blocks and splinters that mark your progress in mastering this new machinery. A few nicely rounded c's and d's, maybe you have even spelled out your kid's name out of a few construction site scraps. Feeling confident, but not quite ready to turn a whole set of furniture just yet. But what to make next?
