Gnocchi is a dumpling dish made of potato, semolina, flour or ricotta cheese, and can be made with or without spinach. It is traditionally an Italian dish, but has become very popular in several South American countries as a cheap but hearty meal. While gnocchi is often listed among pasta dishes in restaurants, and is cooked in a similar manner, it is not technically a pasta and can fall apart easily if overcooked. Generally best if made fresh, gnocchi is frequently served with a tomato sauce, brown butter and sage sauce, or with melted butter and cheese.

In this free cooking video series, our expert will demonstrate how to make a delicious gnocchi recipe. You will learn how to prepare the potatoes for gnocchi, and how to mix the potatoes with the other ingredients to create gnocchi dough. Our expert chef will also show you how to make a homemade tomato and meat sauce to accompany your gnocchi. This is a great recipe that is both versatile and hearty, and one the whole family is sure to love.
