Since the dawn of time, the stud finder tool has been an integral part of one of the greatest prop jokes known to man. There is a well known tale of Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzer trying to hang a golden framed painting of himself above a sofa in his golden palace. After a dozen failed attempts and holes all over the palace wall, he called to one of his servants to figure out a way to hang his beautiful new painting. The servant quickly reached into his handy dandy tool box and pulled out a brand new laser line stud finder. King Nebuchadnezzer was astonished at this marvelous machine and asked, "What does that crazy thing do?" "Why King," the servant responded, "this is a stud finder. You can put it anywhere and it will find a stud. But wait...hold on...I think it might have found one already." As the servant said this he brushed the stud finder over his chest and made a high pitched beeping noise. After a good five seconds, enough time for it to sink in, the palace erupted with laughter with the king actually rolling on the floor. As the story goes, the servant actually received so many accolades that the King had him executed out of jealousy.
Since that fateful afternoon in the Babylonian palace, the stud finder joke has survived to bring hearty laughs to millions in homes all over the world. Despite its main use as a comedic prop, the laser line level and stud finder actually serves to play an important role in home construction and decorating. Since these uses are so often overlooked by the sheer hilarity of the joke (most often told by Carrot Top), the experts at Expert Village have decided to disclose its other uses, free of charge!
