An oven is a compartment for heating, baking or drying. It is most commonly used in cooking, and the most common kinds of modern ovens are gas ovens and electric ovens. In cooking, the conventional oven is a kitchen appliance and is used for roasting and heating food. Some ovens provide various aids to cleaning, including continuous cleaning ovens that have the oven chamber coated with a catalytic surface that helps break down food splatters and spills over time. Self cleaning ovens use extreme heat to oxidize dirt. In the absence of any special methods, chemical oven cleaners are sometimes used, as well as old-fashioned scrubbing.

Like other kitchen appliances and microwaves, ovens can get very messy as heated food and liquids have tendencies to splatter. So, how do you go about safely cleaning an oven? In this free video series, our expert will give you step-by-step instructions on how to clean an oven, from using the owner's manual and gathering supplies to cleaning stains and using self-cleaning ovens. Our expert will also show you how to clean individual oven parts, such as the racks and surface. With these video instructions, your oven will sparkle, and you'll also learn helpful cleaning tips that can be applied to other kitchen appliances!
