Sudoku is a logic puzzle that uses numbers to test the player's placement skills. Given a 9x9 grid, with some numbers filled in, the player must complete the puzzle, knowing there is only one solution. The term Sudoku is an abbreviated Japanese phrase meaning “the digits must occur only once”, and the game gained international popularity in 2005 after many years of functioning in a sort of obscurity. Based on the Latin square, the relationships between the numerals are of no mathematical consequence, and in fact any sort of color or shape can be substituted. The goal of the game is to fill the empty cells in the grid with their correct answer by means of scanning, marking up and analyzing. The rules are simple, but the solutions can often be quite complex, especially with higher difficulty Sudoku grids. As a player becomes more advanced skill-wise, they might try variations of the game, including three dimensional games and grids of their own to challenge friends or competitors. In this free video clip series, our expert will explain the history of Sudoko, what it means, and how its origins are relevant to the novice or beginner player. Learn how to solve puzzles, how to create your own Sudoko grid, and get tips on completing higher difficulty levels of the logic puzzle by use of some special tips and tricks. Using twins, eliminating numbers and using the web to get grids and puzzles and help solve them is included. Soon you will be on the way to becoming an expert Sudoko puzzle solver yourself!
