From the time of the cavemen, drawing has served as a primary method of communication and expression. But it wasn't until paper became readily available in Europe during the 15th century that drawing masters such as Leonardo da Vinci showed the world what amazing things could be done with simple lines and shapes. Ever since, a growing number of people have embraced drawing in its various forms and fields: doodling, sketching, cartoons, caricatures, CAD, architecture, engineering, building, planning, inventing, 3D wire modeling, motion capture—and the list goes on.
In these intermediate drawing lessons, learn how to use sketching and perspective to transform simple shapes, such as turning a rectangular prism into a cylinder. An expert will help you understand how the cube and the prism are jumping off points for modeling real life 3D objects, mainly through creative ability, practice, and a bit of Euclidean geometry. In each drawing video, the expert will walk you through step-by-step, not only focusing on modeling, but also on shading, light, and shadow. Not only will you learn how to form complicated shapes from basic ones, but also how to add depth and dimension to your work by understanding how light and shadow interact on several surfaces.
