High heels are typically worn in work or dress-up situations, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. For most women, going to work requires some sort of heel or pump, and learning to walk in heels and wear them during an eight hour workday is difficult and challenging. Low heels are typically considered shoes with heels that are one inch or less in height, and the longest heel is typically around four inches. Over the years, the styles of heels have changed significantly, for example, in the 1970s, a platform heel was the norm, and in the 90s and 00s, stilettos are much preferred style wise.
