Hair coloring is the process by which one changes the color of their hair through a chemical process or a hair dye. By lightening your hair you are in fact applying a chemical process to your hair that removes the color pigment from it. If you are darkening your hair then you are in fact staining the pigment either temporarily or permanently depending on the type of hair dye you are applying, temporary or permanent.
