The art of ninjitsu, ninjutsu, shinobi-no-mono—or simply ninja—has been widely regarded by the West as a closely-held Japanese martial arts secret. Ninja warriors are portrayed in modern popular culture as black-clad shadow assassins intent on beheading dignitaries and then disappearing over a rooftop. While real ninjas might perform some of these actions, as history bears out, the essence of ninjutsu is stealth and speed—to go undetected, to strike, and to remain invisible in one’s retreat.

If you ask a ninja, he’ll tell you it’s not about real, ultimate power and domination, e.g. 100 ways to kill a man. Ninjutsu is like any other martial art: it enjoys a long history of development and tradition, has respected leaders and practitioners, and tries to explain spiritual principles through philosophy and physical disciplines.

In these free ninjutsu techniques and training videos, learn how to become a real ninja warrior. Our shidoshi will teach you about basic ninja weapons and philosophy, how to strike the neck and stomach, how to block and parry, how to bend the wrist and flip an opponent, locks, rolls, and how to use a bo staff to attack and defend.
