One of these programs is therapeutic horseback riding, and it has proved to help people with mental and physical disabilities. "Therapeutic riding" refers specifically to horseback riding lessons for people with special needs. These needs are incorporated into the riding lessons by licensed therapists. It is seen as another therapy tool, and there is no denying the enthusiasm and enjoyment that the experience creates.

Connie Weinsoff Connie Weinsoff is an "Advanced Therapeutic Riding Instructor" certified by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) as well as a national instructor evaluator. In 2004, Connie was appointed one of three state representatives on therapeutic riding by NARHA. She has been a therapeutic riding instructor since 1992 and at Hearts since 1996.
