Hepatitis C is an infectious viral disease that can cause liver inflammation that could lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer. The disease is spread from blood-to-blood contact and can be spread unknowingly. Up to 70% of people infected with this disease have no symptoms or signs of infection for the first six months of infection. Symptoms include decreased appetite, abdominal pain, jaundice, itching and flu-like symptoms.
