In this series of how-to art sculpture videos, our professional sculptor Gary Mitnik demonstrates how to design, create and cast a bronze figure. As he puts the finishing touches on one of his own clay models, he describes not only the creative process of how he comes up with his ideas and designs, but also the dynamics of how to suggest motion as well as the logistics of how to distribute the weight in order to balance the figure on its stand. As an extra bonus, we get to see Gary discuss several of his finished works currently on display in galleries throughout the southwestern United States.

Beyond the mind of the artist, we get to see the actual process by which a bronze figure is created, with on-site footage from the workshop where the bronze statues are actually cast. Watch the wax melt and the sparks fly as a figure starts as a mold, then is separated into various parts to be cast in a forge. Learn how these parts are welded back together again, with special care to cover up the seams. This series is a revelation for fans of bronze sculpture who marvel at the end result, but have never seen the steps involved to get there. Watch and learn the Expert Village way!
