If those piano lessons for your young kids don’t seem to be sinking in, don’t despair. Perhaps they just need a little extra attention to get them started, a different approach to help the lessons take hold. Each child is different, as is their approach to learning. Just because they can’t play “Row, Row Your Boat” the first day you show it to them doesn’t mean that they won’t be the star of a recital someday.
In this free series of free piano lesson videos, our expert teacher Hope Wells helps you troubleshoot the music education process. She demonstrates easy ways to reinforce concepts such as counting and note-reading to children. You will also learn how to encourage your young student to learn the keys of the keyboard and play with both hands. And should these reinforcement techniques still not have any affect on your child, well…why not just let them go play tag with their friends.
Hope Wells Hope Wells, from Ohio, began to play the piano at the age of seven. She studied music and English at Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio, and she has also studied acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and Los Angeles. Her history as a educator began with preschool music and dance. Since that time, she has taught private piano and voice, as well as elementary and high school music.
