How to Make Clay Betty Boop Pendants

Learn how to create a custom Betty Boop pendant in this diy crafts video from our collectible pop culture authority and jewelry making expert.

Series Summary

With her wide flat head and big bulging eyes, the cartoon character Betty Boop has been a pop culture icon since the early 1930s when she first appeared in the Dizzy Dishes segment of Max Fleischer's Talkartoon series. Originally designed as a poodle, her dog ears became earrings and her fur became a bob haircut when she appeared in the cartoon Any Rags. In a series of animated shorts from Paramount Pictures, she cemented her reputation as the ditzy though big-hearted flapper girlfriend of Paramount's star actor Bimbo. She has remained popular in syndication over the years and made a cameo appearance in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. She has long been a favorite among collectors of movie memorabilia.

In this series of free home crafts videos, our youthful clay sculpture expert shares her method for creating fun pendants of Boop's distinctive face. She tells you what materials you need, then demonstrates how to mold the hair, face and eyes of your very own piece of movie history!
