Many of the Chinese martial arts teach how to move the body based upon the movement of ch’i, the inner energy of the spirit. Most of the Chinese fighting arts are informed by this aspect of the relationship between body and spirit. The basic aim of physical training in martial arts is to bring the body, mind and spirit into harmony and to focus and control the qi. Such a difficult task usually takes adherents of the fighting arts a lifetime of exercise and discipline to achieve. Bruce Lee is one of the few students of Chinese kung fu that not only mastered its basic principles, but altered them fundamentally. He created a new perspective, a new way of thinking about martial arts and real combat. He called it Jeet Kune Do, “The Way of the Intercepting Fist.” JKD was radical in that Lee claimed it had no fixed forms or movements. In some ways changing hundreds of years of tradition, Lee rocked the martial arts world to its core.In these free martial arts training videos, learn advanced Jeet Kune Do techniques, such as grappling, defeating an opponent’s defense, traps, and changing angles of attack. Our teacher will also guide you in the fundamental principle of JKD: the way of the intercepting fist. Learn how to watch your opponent’s body movements and beat him to the punch, ending the fight quickly... and in your favor.
