Series Summary

Grappling is a collection of martial arts techniques and strategies which consist of gripping, handling and controlling an opponent without the use of striking. Also referred to as submission wrestling, grappling moves and techniques are found in jiu-jitsu, judo, traditional wrestling, and mixed martial arts. The strategies used to defeat an opponent can generally be divided into three sub-groups: throws, joint locks and pinning techniques, each of which can be used together or separately. Grappling moves are commonly used when teaching self-defense and by law enforcement officers. There are two forms of grappling that dictate the style and pace of movements and techniques, that is with gi or with “no-gi”. In this free video series, our expert martial arts sensei will demonstrate no-gi grappling moves, which emphasize body control of the torso and head, as opposed to emphasizing grips. He will demonstrate step-by-step instructions for several moves, including the fireman carry, hip toss, inner leg throw, and the rear naked choke hold. Whether you are looking to compete in wrestling or judo, or simply want to improve your self-defense moves, our expert will prepare you for your next battle with this free video instructional series.
