Physical fitness training is one of the key factors in building a high performance sports team. Whether the sport is football, soccer, basketball, or hockey, the ability of the individual athletes to perform with more strength, speed, or agility than the other team can mean the difference between a play made and a play missed, a game won or lost. Often times, coaches will implement a well-thought-out fitness training plan for their team, using up half of a regular practice time with exercises aimed at bringing his or her athletes to the next level.

Often, the more intense and competitive the sport, the more responsible the athlete is to continue to train outside of the regular practice regimen. Profession athletes have personal trainers and highly individualized schedules of exercise that help to target specific weaknesses in their performance.

In this free physical fitness video clinic, learn how to train yourself, or your team of athletes, for increased flexibility, endurance, speed, agility, and strength. Our expert, a former NFL player, will show you exercises and field drills to address many areas of athletic conditioning. Clips include extensive stretching and muscle warm up exercises, techniques for using the medicine ball to build core strength and balance, and field drills using ropes, hurdles, and cones.

About the Presenter

Bay Bay McClinton and Priest Holmes A native Texan, Baybay McClinton was a professional NFL athlete, playing for the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Oilers in the late eighties and early nineties. He then sought out a professional certification organization that offered the curriculum and credibility he needed to be a successful strength trainer working with athletes.

All Sports began back in 1997, starting with a few athletes such as Priest Holmes, Baltimore Ravens; Eric Brown, Denver Broncos; Tony Darden, San Diego Chargers; and Eric Flowers of the Buffalo Bills. The next year in 1998, N.D. Kalu of the Washington Redskins began training under the program. In 1999 Jeff Foster, Indiana Pacers first round NBA Draft pick began training under this unique program. The program requires dedication for its highly intense and energetic workouts. Spiritual growth is a plus also offered for the confidence and success of the athletes. High school and college athletes have now begun training under the All Sports program.

Three-time Pro Bowl running back Priest Holmes still owns a share of an NFL single-season touchdown record after registering 27 rushing TDs in 2003, overtaking the previous mark owned by Emmitt Smith (25 in ‘95). He owns 11 different Chiefs career records, including marks for yards from scrimmage (8,293), rushing yards (5,933), total TDs (83), rushing TDs (76), and 100-yard rushing games (24). In addition to holding a plethora of Kansas City records, he is near the top of the charts in a host of other areas in both NFL and Chiefs history. He ranks 13th in the NFL with 86 career rushing TDs, a total that ranks 4th among active players, trailing only Marshall Faulk (100), Alexander (90), and Curtis Martin (89). Over the past five seasons, no running back in the league has averaged more yards from scrimmage per game than Holmes (136.0). He also started with Baltimore in 2000, the year the Ravens marched to a victory in Super Bowl XXXV. dkdk
