Since the dawn of time, men have been hitting each other with their fists. Boxing takes that prehistoric urge for fighting and molds it into a sport in which two boxers fight each other wearing boxing gloves, for a series of one to three minute rounds. Points are counted for each solid and legal blow and a winner is named based on who is left standing in the ring, or by who has the most points. While the boxing ring sees it's share of participants blood, boxing is sometimes called the sweet science because of the agility, grace and speed required of boxers.

In this free video series, our expert will offer up tips and advice on boxing training and becoming a competitive boxer. You will learn a variety of training techniques used by boxing coaches, including shadow boxing, jumping rope and using a speed bag. You will also learn how to use a heavy bag, hand pads, and a medicine ball for boxing training, as well as get tips on defense, side movements in the boxing ring and how to wrap your hands for boxing. If you are an amateur boxer looking for training tips and techniques, let our expert show you the basics of this active sport.
