Hi, I'm Rick with Gardens by Rick and in this video, we're going to show you how to garden with red worms. OK it's always beneficial to use red worms in your garden for many reasons. Some of the basic reasons are it's definitely organic, and these guys consume in 24 hours they consume their weight in organic matter, and they also in their excrement, in their worm castings, they also put really needed magnesium and calcium back into the soil that is really beneficial for good plant growth and development of roots. Basically, when you want to put the worms down, you don't want to put it down on dry soil. The odds are they will dry up and die. So, you want to make sure that the soil is semi soft, it's not really hard of clay just to give them a good chance to get in there. And also it's good to put them down in the evenings or after you water. Directly after you water, which gives them direct soft soil so that they can burrow in there and start benefiting your soil really well.
