Hi, I'm Elie from Gilbert Table Tennis Center, and today I'm going to show you how to hit a forehand top spin serve in table tennis. So, by international rules, before you hit the ball, you have to toss it into the air, starting with a open palm. So, I'm going to show you the forehand serve from both sides, from backhand corner, and from forehand corner. So, from backhand corner, so, I'm going to get into this position, tossing the ball into the air. And, when the ball goes down, I'm going to hit it in this direction, sort of skimming the ball through it, at the same time giving the drive forward, will look like this. So, that would be a topspin service. So, I'm hitting the ball, letting the ball to drop pretty low to the table. And then, from here, I'm going to do this motion, hitting the ball this way. So, the key point here is to get enough of the topspin, you don't want to hit just flat. So, you want to go through this, like this way. So, that will give you the more topspin on the ball. So, the forehand serve is from the forehand corner, you're just changing your position. The setup is pretty much the same, open palm, tossing the ball into the air, and hitting it on the other side, cross court, from forehand corner to the forehand corner. And again, setting up here, making sure that you brushing the ball this way right here, with follow through and driving the ball forward. I'm Elie from Gilbert Table Tennis Center. And today, showed you how to hit a forehand topspin service in table tennis.
