Hello, I'm Jeff at Light In Shining Armor Studios, and today we're going to discuss how Yoga helps with anxiety and depression. So, Yoga will help with anxiety and depression if we focus on the breath. You hear about focusing on the breath in, in everyday life. So, in order to help with depression and anxiety, you want to do the Yoga breathing which is a very simple three step breath. You place one hand on your belly, the other hand on your chest and imagine that you're filling up a glass of water as you inhale. You inhale, pushing stomach out, filling up the lungs, the chest comes out and then, the top of the chest fills up. And as you exhale, it's like you're emptying the glass from the top of the chest, the ribs, and then the belly pulls into the spine. Do that several times, you'll feel your heart beat slow down. Do it with your eyes open or close, whatever is the most comfortable and you'll be so, you'll be really surprise at how relaxed, how the depression alleviates and how the anxiety just floats away as you let go of the breath.
