Hi, my name is John from Competitive Edge Cyclery and I'm going to be showing you how to make a BMX bike into a multi-speed bike. So, some of you is, some of you have stressed interest in converting your BMX bike into a multi-geared bike, it's just not possible on most bikes due to the room constraints in the back of the frame. There are multi-speed hubs available out there on the market, but you're looking at about 150 dollar conversion adding more weight to the back end of the bike and also, just not a very desirable setup. They're plenty of mountain bikes out there that would do the job really well that you could get. In the past, some people have had bikes converted two speed; it just didn't really work out as well as they thought on BMX tracks. It just works rugged enough to hold up and people have problems with them. Most of the bikes are going to be a single speed setup, and it's just the way that they're set up, and that's what they're meant to do. Sorry guys.
