Hi, my name is Bob Linde. I'm an acupuncture physician and registered herbalist. Today, I'm going to talk to you about how to use natural herbs to help with migraines. So, there's a number of different types of migraines actually, and the exact herbal remedy that's going to be most effective with you may vary, and may need the intervention of a professional herbalist or acupuncturist who can ascertain the most effective approach for you. Of course, there are some herbs out there like Feverfew that are best used fresh or fresh freeze dried, but can be more difficult to obtain good quality, and without the good quality you won't have great success. Some of the other things that I like to use specifically for migraines is Magnesium Citrate, or other forms of Magnesium as well can be used, and can be very effective for stressed induced or blood sugar-induced migraines. There's a Chinese formula that's oftentimes used, but it's very important that it's specifically prescribed by a Chinese herbalist, and that's Tian Ma Gou Teng Wan, which can be very helpful for what we call Liver Rang Rising, and then of course there's something that's maybe not the strongest, but can be very helpful in a pinch if you have no access to anything else, and that's Rosemary. So, if you make a strong tea out of Rosemary, you can use fresh or dried by adding about one to two tablespoons of Rosemary into your French Press, add a cup and a half to two cups of hot water, let it steep for about 15 minutes, and then drink about a half cup every two hours, and hopefully that's going to help relieve your migraine. But of course, it's most important to not just treat the symptom, but actually find out what the underlying cause is which alternative medicine can oftentimes approach this successfully. So, find your local alternative health care practitioner or herbalist in order to ascertain the best combination of herbs for you. This is Bob Linde, talking to you about natural remedies for migraines. Please enjoy your herbs.
