Hi, my name is Bob Linde. I'm an Acupuncture Physician and Registered Herbalist. Today, I'm going to talk to you about alternative herbal treatments. So, there are many different types and approaches to alternative herbal treatments. Some of the most common forms that we find herbs being prescribed in is either in raw form that we can put into pills or capsules. We can also use alcohol or vinegar extractions, which is very commonly used in Western herbalism, which is very convenient. We can also, of course, make teas or decoctions, which is a boiled up group of herbs. It's important to remember that herbs are usually prescribed in combinations specific to a particular individual's needs. So, it oftentimes requires a lot of research on one individual's part, or to actually go and find an herbal professional in order to ascertain the best combinations based on your particular set of circumstances. So, no matter whether you're doing it as a pill, a powder, an alcohol extraction or a tea, there's a variety of different ways that we can take our herbs internally or externally, and have been used for thousands of years to a great success, and continues to be the major medical system throughout the world. This is Bob Linde, talking to you about alternative herbal therapies and all the wonderful ways that we can use it for variety of different health care needs. So, please enjoy your herbs.
