Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, Acupuncture Physician and Clinical Herbalist. Today, we will be discussing EFT in acupressure. Now, EFT is short of the Emotional Freedom Technique, and it's based on a set of acupressure points. And what it does is it, you want to utilize it when you're experiencing low mood in relation to something that, that bothers you. So, you want to kind of get a hold of what that thought is that's bothering you and then, you want to rephrase it in a positive light as how you would want this to affect you positively. And you're just going to pick about two or three words to associate with, with that positive aspect of this mood. So, pick the event and then how you want it to affect you and you're going to kind of just keep repeating these words over and over like a mantra as you tap on these points. So, I'm going to show you the sectional points today. The first point is du 20 or governor 20 located at the top of the head at the vertex. So, to measure, I'm going to come to the ears where my thumbs come together in the mid-line and just slightly back; there's a little bit of a hollow. So, while repeating those words to yourself, gently tapping and then, you're going to move to the second point, bladder 2. Bladder 2 is located in the inside of the eyebrow, right here in this little sinus cavity. So again, repeating the word association in a positive light and then coming to yin tung while repeating it again. Then, we're going to come down to the frenulum, this little divot under the nose and we're going to point tap here. And then, we're going to come to the end of the chin; again, all while repeating these, the positive association. And then, we're also going to add stomach 1 located right here under the pupils. And then, we're going to come to kidney 27 which is located about two finger breaths out from the sternum, just under the collarbone, right here. And then, we're going to come to spleen 21, it's on both sides. It's located in the ribs which is under the armpit and it's usually quite tender. And then finally, liver 14. Liver 14 is located just under the breast and kind of even with where the nipple is and again, that's usually pretty tender too especially if you're angered about this event. And you want to do this, these six sections as many times as it takes to where you feel comfortable about the event that's happening and what's bothering you. And this might take a couple of days to do over and over again. But it can be pretty freeing. So, what it does is it kind of retrains your emotional body to store this in a positive light instead of a negative manner.
