Hi, I'm Jessica Davis, interior designer and owner of JL Design in Nashville, Tennessee, and today we're going to talk about how to decorate your modern bathroom. It's easy to decorate a modern bathroom when you stick with all the same finishes. You can see in this bathroom I've already added some functional items, like the soap dispenser, a small container for cotton balls or Q-Tips, as well as a toothbrush holder. All of these items are consistent with the finish that you already see shown on the faucets. What I'm referring to here is the brushed nickel or silver finish. Now, let's have fun with it and take a look at this piece. This is one of those pieces that most of you may say, "I don't know if that should go in a modern bathroom," but I can promise you, this is the piece that makes this modern bathroom the unique space that it is. What may throw you off is the fact that you have this gold ring here. Again, back to what I said a moment ago playing it safe in a modern bathroom would be sticking with those finishes that are already here. Typically in a modern bathroom you're going to find brush nickel, chrome all of those silver finishes but shake things up a little bit, introduce some brass. Brass is back in a big way, just do it in small doses. Think of it this way, black, white, they contrast. Silver and gold they contrast, and they lend themselves to making a great interesting bathroom. To complete your modern bathroom you want to bring in a few final accessories. Some candles, some additional hand towels and don't forget how important artwork is in any space. This has been Jessica Davis, teaching you how to decorate your modern bathroom.
