Hello, my name is Joshua Clement with Lighty contractors, and today we will be discussing household ingredients and how to fix a slow draining toilet. When fixing a clogged toilet with general household ingredients, there's a couple that you're going to need that are pretty common in most homes. That is dish soap. It has to have a grease fighting chemical in it to do any good. Yeast. Go ahead and check the expiration date to make sure it hasn't gone bad. And a pot. Filled with water and brought to a boil. Clogged toilets are mainly caused by biodegradable materials stuck to the side of your pipes. Yeast is an active, live ingredient. When poured into the toilet, and flushed, eats away those biodegradable materials, thus relieving them from the side of your pipes, and helping you flush better. Any type of yeast will work. Simply pour it into the bowl, and flush. And you're going to have to do this few more times until your clog is relieved. Another way to fight the clogged toilet is take your grease fighting dish detergent and pour it into the toilet. You might want to use about a half a bottle. Now that we got it poured in there, go ahead and flush. You might have to do this a couple times. We got our water to a boil now. What you're going to do is slowly pour it in. Make sure you don't splash on yourself. Let it sit there for a little bit, and then flush. The heat should cause everything to kind of break loose a little bit. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty contractors, and that's how you can fix a clogged toilet with general household ingredients.
