Hi, my name is Jazmayne Chatman representing gLaM sQuAd LA, and today I'm going to demonstrate to you how to straighten natural, curly black hair. Our model here has already been straightened as you can see, and we have a small section here to demonstrate to you how take the kink out of natural curly hair. The tools that you'll need are clips, a serum for the hair to protect it from heat, maybe an aerosol or hair spritz hair spray, and a ceramic flat iron, rat tail comb. OK. So, I'm going to take a small section the size of the flat iron. You want to be mindful not to put too much hair in between the mouth of the flat iron. Has to be able to fit. So you use your comb as a guide to straighten the natural curly hair. See the ridges in the hair? We're going to use a little tension and put the comb at the base of the hair, sliding it out with just enough room to slide the flat iron in. Take your flat iron and press with a little tension going down in the direction you want the hair to lay. Again, we'll take a section that's the width of our flat iron, straighten out the kink, use the comb as our guide, and flatten it out. Her hair has a lot of sheen to it. My name is Jazmayne Chatman, representing gLaM sQuAd LA, and I just demonstrated how to straighten curly black hair.
