Hi, my name is Jazmayne Chatman representing gLaM sQuAd LA, and today I'm going to demonstrate for you how to curl hair with a ceramic iron on African-American hair. The tools that you're going to need to style African-American hair are a curling iron, ceramic is one of the best, a comb, a clip for sectioning and hairspray whether it be a spritz or an aerosol. Okay, when curling African-American hair you definitely want to have it somewhat straight first, you definitely don't want to have a lot of kinks or a heavy curl pattern within your ringlet in your curl. So you want to spray the hair first with a spritz or your aerosol hairspray. Make sure that the section you pick is the same size and width as the curling iron, you can see there very similar in shape and size. Then you hold the hair from the base and you can burl it like this. I'm going to do a couple more to demonstrate to you how it goes and you spray the hair with your spritz, pull out your section, start your curl at the base and twirl the curling iron in the hair and pull at the same time to get all of the hair into the iron and there you have a curl. So, I'm Jazmayne Chatman representing gLaM sQuAd, and I just demonstrated to you how to curl African-American hair with a ceramic curling iron.
