I'm Johnnie Jones at the Eco Day Spa, I will show you how to give a facial spa treatment at home. There are six basic steps, one, cleanse, two, ex-foliate, three, tone, four, massage, five, mask, and six, moisturize. We choose a cleanser based on the skin type. My client today, has combination skin. So, we're using a combination cleanser. Combination skin typically means, she has an oily T-zone and she's normal to dry in the other areas of the skin. After we cleanse the skin, we then, will follow with an ex-foliation of the skin. We now ex-foliate the skin with an exfoliant. And the purpose of the exfoliant, is to remove dry or dead skin from the face. Step three, we now, tone the skin. The purpose of toning the skin, is to balance the PH of the skin. After toning the skin, we then massage the skin. The purpose of the massage, is to relax one's face and facial muscles. For the facial massage, we use Effleurage strokes, friction, circular strokes, as well as Tapotement, which is the tapping of the skin. We then, place a mask on the skin. Purpose of the mask, is to hydrate the skin, and to close any of the open pores. You're going to allow the mask to sit on the skin, anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. Before proceeding with a moisturizer. After removing the mask, the final step is to moisturize the skin. We also use a mask based on the skin type. So, the mask will also be a combination mask. Last but not least, we moisturize the skin. And these are the six basic steps for a facial spa treatment at home.
