Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, Acupuncture Physician and Clinical Herbalist. Today, I will be showing you acupressure points to help alleviate symptoms of heart burn. Two local points that you can use are kidney 21, located where the ribs come together in the sternum in the xiphoid process. So, you can just follow the ribs up and end, you'll find where they meet and you use two fingers 'cause there's a point on either side and just gently stimulate in a downward fashion. Take deep breaths while you're doing this and this should help alleviate the local point. This is also something that can be done preventatively before meal to help prevent heartburn from starting. And then, another point that I like to add to this is P6. P6 is located on the inside of the arm between the two tendons that run down the middle of the inside of the forearm after the vein crosses. So, it's right here on our model today. And this point is important because the area of the body that it governs is the kind of the top of the thoracic body of the upper chest. So, using this point is also pretty effective for nausea as well. So, if your heartburn is in, so intense that you feel nauseas at the same time, this is a great point for you as well as how it can be stimulated when, and nobody notices what you're doing. So, if you're sitting in a meeting or at school, this can be something that's done discreetly. Now, if your heartburn occurs more than just every now and again, from overeating or eating the wrong foods, it could be a sign of a serious medical condition. I encourage you to seek out your local acupuncture physician or MD to find out what the nature of the heartburn is that you don't have to suffer any longer. I'm Hilary Talbott, and that was acupressure for heartburn.
