Hi, my name is Tanya, and I'm an Instructor at Gold's Gym. I want to show you the benefits of doing a bench press with dumbbells. I see a serious bodybuilder in the gym, he didn't have a bar, he's got two big dumbbells and he's going at it on the bench. So, I'm going to show you how to do it. Alright, feet flat on the floor and even some guys will put their feet on the bench. But, I kind of like my feet on the floor. Got your barbells, any size will do and I'm going to show you why this is so great. So, I got my arms up, I'm going to lower down and I like the, the fact that I've got dumbbells because I can go further down, I got a greater range of motion and that's really fantastic because your arms can go just a little further down and it's not just a chest exercise. You're actually getting a great stretch to the chest, "Whew", as you lower the elbows and it's a great exercise. So, I'm going straight up and feeling the shoulders, feeling the chest and it's pretty fantastic. So, you're not locked into a machine, so you can do so much more. Another thing is you can actually switch up the bench press, we lift up and look what I'm doing with the hands. My thumbs are closest to each other, I'm going to lift and twist and touch my pinkies together. So, that's working, "Whew", more chest; that's working internal. Oh, the lowest part of the chest I can absolutely feel it when I let my pinkies touch there; two more, last one. And now, I'm going to show you a fly. You got your arms straight up, your palms facing each other, lower and now look where are my arms. They're going further down. So, if I had a bar, I couldn't lower the bar. But, I'm down, I got this awesome range of motion here; my abs are in, "Ahhh", I'm feeling that in the chest guys. What a great way to get that chest workout, "Hmmm", done with dumbbells, good stuff. Two more, 'cause that's just stretching the shoulder, I love it; last one, bam. And get you some heavy weights. I got some light ones just so I can survive this. But, dumbbells are just where it's at. You don't have to joint the gym and get the big old, you know, all these machines. Pair of dumbbells, that's all you need to get in great shape.
