Hi, I'm JJ Virgin, Nutrition and Fitness Expert of, and today I'm going to show you how to get fit using a pedometer. And I must tell you, pedometer is my favorite secret weapon for fitness because it works like bio-feedback. When you put one of this on, it really reminds you to move more. In fact they did a study with kids where they all they did was gave them a pedometer and told them to wear them each day and the kids watch one hour less of TV a day. Now, that's powerful. So, it's, here's how you could use your pedometer. First of all, wear it for a week and everyday record how many steps you take. At the end of the day, seven days, add all of the numbers up and then divide by seven to give your average steps each day. Take that number and multiply it by ten. You want to get ten percent more activity each day now. So, we're going to take that number; let's say that you discover that your average steps per day are five thousand. So the next week, what you're going to strive for is 500, 5500 steps per day. Okay. We're just going to up it by ten percent and each week we're going to go for a little bit more. Now, honestly you're going to find that you actually do this naturally; just the very nature of wearing this pedometer is going to make you start to think about moving more which is great because we want to exercise hard, but everyday, we also want to get as much movement in as possible. I'm JJ Virgin of, and that's how to get fit using a pedometer.
