Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, Acupuncture Physician and Clinical Herbalist. Today, we will be discussing acupressure for adrenal fatigue. Now, if you've experienced this or been given a diagnosis of adrenal fatigue, you understand the debilitating kind of chronicity of your fatigue regardless of how many stimulants you take in and how altering that can be to your lifestyle. Now, stimulants probably got you there in the first place whether that was a stimulant in the form of too much stress, too much stimuli in a day in, day out basis as well as taking in stimulants like caffeine. So, that is one of the first things that I always question patients about that are ex, experiencing adrenal fatigue. How much coffee and soda and five-hour energies are you taking in? Because those actually pull on the adrenal glands quite quickly. So, two points I'm going to show you are located on the feet, kidney 1; this is the source point for pulling chi from the earth. It's located in between the first and second toes, kind of in a divot just under the ball of the foot here and liver 3 that I talk about all the time located just on the other side of the foot from kidney 1 between the first and second toes of the foot. Together pressing these points has a very grounding effect, will help to give you energy and is also quite relaxing at the same time. So, daily use of these points is important and these points are both found on both feet of course. And then bladder 23 located here in the low back or the lower back. So, the kidneys anatomically sit just up under the ribs and the adrenal glands actually sit kind of right on top of the kidneys. So any kind of gentle massage stimulation that you can do in a clockwise direction is often stimulating to the adrenal glands. So, just doing this on yourself until you feel slight warming sensation is also helpful and preventative in nature. There are lots of different lifestyle choices that you can make to alleviate the symptoms of adrenal fatigue as well as regular acupuncture sessions and herbal medications that can help to bring up the adrenals to a normal functioning for.
