Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, Acupuncture Physician and Clinical Herbalist. Today, we will be discussing neuro-lymphatic release points. Now, there are a various drainage points all over the body and a lot of them are also acupuncture points. But, I'm going to show you a set of my favorite points today and those are also in Chinese terms called the Hua Tuo Jia Ji points. Now, the Hua Tuo Jia Ji points are a special set of points. They don't lie on their own meridian; but, they are actually in the intervertebral spaces on either side of the spinous process of each vertebrae down the spine. And these are clinically significant because the nerves that come out of the spine intervene all of our internal organs. So, gently massaging each of these spaces in between intervertebral spaces is kind of acts like a massage for all your internal organs. So, what I'm going to do is I use my thumbs and I just gently find the space in between two vertebrae and I just walk my thumbs down each space with a gentle to moderate pressure, kind of a half circle motion. And you'll feel the difference of when you're on the end of the, of the spinous process versus in the space in between the two. And this is a place that we often will do acupuncture if we're trying to, trying to activate a specific organ because we can do so by using the nerve that is attached to it. But, daily acupressure on these points can be helpful for lots of internal medical complications as well as helping the lymphatic system to drain properly. Now, you might be curious as to who would need to simulate the lymphatic system. And that would be anybody really that has a low immune system. So, perhaps you catch colds and flus frequently or maybe you've just gone through a chemo or radiation and your immune system is kind of taking a hit, daily massage on these points could be quite helpful for bringing the immune system back up to par. I'm Hilary Talbott and that was neuro-lymphatic release.
