Hello, I'm Jeanette Conner. I've been a Visual Artist for eight plus years and today,, I'm going to show you how to make wedding invitations with calla lilies. A great way to make a wedding invitation look very elegant and ornamental is with a paper calla lily. For this project you're going to need tissue paper that you have cut into a rectangle and folded in half, yellow paper, scissors and a hot glue gun. To start, what you're going to do is you're going to cut a heart shape out of your tissue paper. So, looks like that. Then, take your tissue paper and break them apart. You're going to start with your hot glue gun and you're just going to put a little dab down and lay the next one over, just a little bit off center of the other one. That way you get a nice textured layered edge and not just a bunch of straight paper. It'll make it look more like a real flower. You don't want to make them too off center because you do want to make the flower still have the same shape. Make sure you're not stuck to the table and you don't have any strings attached. Then, cut a small strip of yellow paper and I like to curl it on one end and then again, just dab that with hot glue and stick in your flower; no, stick the whole thing down just a little bit so that it sticks out from the flower. Then you're going to fold the two sides into each other, like so and put a little bit of crease in there. And then again, just a dab of hot glue, a little bit goes a really a long way and fold those back. If you need a little bit more hot glue to hold that on all of the layers, just dab in between and press down. Then, just crease it back the other way and pull the top part of the flower back; just takes a little bit a finger muscle, but you want to give your flower a really nice shape. It's okay to crinkle the paper a little bit, but try to keep it as neat as possible. Once you have your flower to your liking, you can simply glue it down and add it to this invitation with a calla lily on it already. So, just take a little hot glue and glue it down. That simple. To add a little bit of extra ornament, you can glue cut outs of leaves, which you just take green card stock paper and cut a leaf shape and then you can just glue that right across there. And that is how you make a wedding invitation with calla lilies. This is Jeanette Conner and today we learned how to make wedding invitations with calla lilies.
