Hi, I'm Ashley Fandino, and today we're going to discuss how to harvest rose hips. Rose hips can make a great soothing tea that is extremely high in vitamin C. They also make some wonderful syrups as well. Rose hips keep very well when dried so you can enjoy them year 'round. So, let's go harvest a few of our rose hips for our rose hip tea. Now, you can harvest any time they are available, the best time to harvest rose hips is in late fall, just before, or shortly after the first frost of the year. OK. You want to pick the rose hips that are largest and brightest in color. To do that, simply clip the hip from the stem using a pair of clean garden shears. Make sure to leave a few for the birds, because they love the nutritious seeds inside. And we enjoy the birds. I'm Ashley Fandino, and this has been how to harvest rose hips.
