Hi, I'm Cherie Donohue, and I'm going to show you a couple of different Christmas candy cane crafts that you can do with your kids. OK, so today, I have two different candy cane crafts that you can make with your kids. The first one is very simple and very quick, and it's really cute. This is a little candy cane tripod, and you're going to glue together that can be used to hold a picture of your kids, or it could hold a cute a favorite Christmas card. It's really simple to make. All you need are three candy canes, some ribbon, and a hot glue gun. You're going to take your candy canes and two at a time you're going to go ahead and put them together so that they form this nice kind of triangular V in the front and you're going to take a bead of hot glue gun right down the side. Put them together and let them stick. After those have dried, you're going to add a third candy cane to the back as the back post. Same process. Bead of glue down the back, stick that candy cane on, let it dry. Pick out a ribbon that you like, tie it around the top, and it's done. Another thing you can do that's really fun with this is use small candy canes and those will make a great place card setting at a table for an event and you can put people's names on that on that little tripod. So that's a really fun, easy craft. The second craft to do with a candy cane is also very simple and fun. Kids love to do beads and do anything with bead work, so this is two variations. This little candy cane here is just a pipe cleaner with some red and white beads. One single pipe cleaner. It was straight, we bent the end to hold the bead on and let the kids string red and white beads across that pipe cleaner. And then just bend it into that candy cane shape and you can hang this on a door handle. It's kind of fun to decorate in their room on maybe a dresser drawer handle or on the Christmas tree, of course. And if you have an older child who wants something a little more complicated, this is fun too. This candy cane is used with two different pipe cleaners. You can use red and white pipe cleaners, or I used red and green. You're going to take your two long pipe cleaners and twist them at the bottom to hold and secure those beads, and then you're going to start with a pattern of beads. I did two white beads and I kept the white on the green pipe cleaner, and then you're going to use three or two or three red beads on the red pipe cleaner. Once you get your beads on each side, the first set on each side, you're going to then twist the pipe cleaner and keep going until you fill up to the end, tie it off, twist it off, and then form your candy cane. This, again, can hang it on the tree, you can hang it around the house on door handles or in a bedroom, and that's a fun little craft, too, for your kids to make.
