Hi, I'm Amy Newman, fitness instructor for Gold's Gym, creator of the Perfect Ten workout. I'm going to show you some pranayama exercises in yoga. Let's lay down flat on the mat so we can feel our breath filling up our body. There's three areas where we're going to be breathing. Starting off in our abdominal area, you can even put your hand there to feel it. Fill your abdominal area with oxygen. Inhaling deeply, then feel it start to lift and open up your ribcage. Deeper, fill up your chest, up to your collar bone. Then as you exhale, pressing down, you'll feel your ribcage contract, contract your abdominals, exhaling completely. Inhale, open your abdominals, then your ribcage, then up to your collar bone, should be filled up, exhaling. Ribcage contracts, abdominals contracts. Squeezing out exhaling completely. Do it lying nice and relaxed. Visualizing as you feel your body filling up. And on that final exhalation, you really want to press with your abdominal muscles. Squeezing out that last little bit of air every time you exhale. I'm Amy Newman. Those are pranayama exercises in yoga.
