Hi, I'm Chris Palmer. Welcome to Chris's Workshop. Today, I'm going to show you how to compost leaves. This Fall, instead of throwing away all these valuable leaves that fall in my yard, I'm going to put them in this Earth machine composter and make great soil. This style machine comes from the Metro division of my city. They give them away every Spring for a really discounted price. If your city doesn't offer that service, you can get these at your local garden center or if you're handy you can make your own. I've raked up all my leaves and now I'm going to add them to my composter. It already has some material in it. I've thrown my food scraps in it as I go along throughout the year. So, it's really rich valuable material. I rake up all my leaves and I just pour them right in the top. It's as simple as that. When my composter is full what I like to do is just make a pile right next to the composter here and that also will break down. I can add it to the composter as the material compresses and gets smaller over time. I'm Chris Palmer. Thanks for joining me. That's how you compost leaves.
